2022 NHL WINTER CLASSIC

CHALLENGES

The St. Louis Blues and the Minnesota Wild competed in the NHL Winter Classic on New Year’s Day. This highly anticipated event broke records with temperatures dropping just under –11.0 degrees Fahrenheit! The icy weather and wind challenged our A3 Visual team as we prepped for the coldest game in NHL history.

SOLUTIONS

Under these extreme weather conditions, our first priority was making sure we used the right fabrics and mesh to print onto logos and sponsored graphics. Barrier walls and dividers were wrapped in 2022 Winter Classic branding from top to bottom. However, the graphics inside the rink were made of more durable material designed to withstand the push, pull, and tugging that comes with a high contact sport like hockey. Although the vinyl and fabric endured the icy surfaces in and outside the rink, a secure installation is just as important as selecting the right materials for the job. Our experienced installation crew did a phenomenal job placing sponsored graphics including Clorox, Geico, SAAP, Verizon, Adidas, and others in high-visibility areas around the stadium. Against the blanket of ice, these pigmented graphics captivated fans in the winter wonderland of hockey.

RESULTS

Outdoor venues can be unpredictable once mother nature steps into play, but our wealth of knowledge, experience, and technique in various weather conditions broke records for the NHL and A3 Visual. Whether it's 111.0 degrees or –11.0 degrees, our team delivers the best results every time.
