Celebrating Pride with TikTok Brand Activations

June 1st kicked off the start of Pride Month, and brands all across the country have been celebrating with in-person festivities and events. Over the past several years, A3 Visual has helped activate Pride installations for a number of our clients, including the Atlanta Pride Run, Capitol Records, the Florida Panthers, Fenway Park, and many more.

We recently collaborated with LA Pride to produce a variety of print and fabric materials for their LA Pride in the Park music event, presented by TikTok. This vibrant and high-energy celebration brought together thousands of attendees from Southern California. Here’s how we helped produce this activation in collaboration with Rise Fabrication

Brand Partnerships for Pride Month

Brand activations have played an increasingly prominent role in celebrating Pride, as many organizations and businesses take this month as an opportunity to stand alongside and support their customers. From Ugg to Ralph Lauren, Olay, Madewell, NFL, and more, companies are supporting their LGBTQIA+ communities in a variety of ways. From showcasing LGBTQIA+ creators to artists, small business owners, athletes, designers, and more, many of today’s biggest brands are using their platforms as a way to make meaningful connections and support their LGBTQIA+ customers.

At the end of May, TikTok announced a range of initiatives to celebrate Pride Month, including live-streamed events and exclusive content from the LA Pride Parade and Festival. Held June 11th and 12th, LA Pride held a large ticketed event at LA State Historic Park, and the original and iconic LA Pride Parade featuring over 130 contingents on Hollywood Boulevard. The LA Pride Parade's return to Hollywood after decades in West Hollywood was met with approximately 125,000 cheering spectators.

About the Installation

We manufactured this activation for Rise Fabrication in support of Christopher Street West, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that organized the world’s first permitted parade advocating for gay rights on June 28, 1970. Over 50 years later, CSW is known as one of the most well-respected and impactful LGBTQIA+ organizations in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Our Los Angeles-based manufacturing team helped create a series of print graphics for the parade and festival. The activation included a wide range of materials, including vinyl, coroplast, and other fabrics. We also provided in-house creative design services to help bring this activation to life.

All banners were UV-printed to maximize color and contrast, resulting in extremely bold and vibrant graphics. For TikTok’s Pride Parade float and park, we fabricated a number of custom ribbon panels, ranging in size and each designed to fall at various lengths. These ribbons were hand-cut to give a smooth, cascading effect once installed.

Additional signage was placed throughout the park, including rigid coroplast graphics featuring food and beverage menus and other tent signs. The large “Pride in the Park” banner was UV-printed on 13 oz vinyl and spanned 120” wide and 24” tall. We also fabricated custom bike rack covers and other sponsorship signage that was installed throughout the venue.
