The Frieze Art Fair recently made its return to the city of Los Angeles, and exceeded expectations in every capacity. From the stunning artwork featured in this year's lineup to the buzzing atmosphere that can be felt throughout the city, Frieze brings an exciting and global exhibit to one of the most iconic art districts in the world. This year included several new gallery openings as well as countless new artists making their international debuts.
We collaborated with Frieze event organizers to create an immersive and seamless experience for guests enjoying this year's festivities. From countless custom vinyl decals to rigid signs, banners, backdrops, and more, this year was one to remember.
A3 Visual Prints Graphics for the 2023 Frieze Art Fair
Following an extensive site survey and a variety of creative consultation services, our team at A3 Visual helped produce a range of custom graphics for this year's event. The vast majority of our work included carefully placed exhibit summaries and overview decals to help guide guests through the installation. Each of these decals was different than the next, featuring information that was unique to that specific location inside the venue and the art that was being showcased. This required exceptional attention to detail in order to ensure that each decal was not only placed in the correct location, but that the sizing and format were also easy to read for individuals exploring the exhibit. Additional graphics included gallery markers and wayfinding signage, including areas for coat check, ticketing, guest services, and more.
Located around high-traffic areas and main entrances, we also provided the custom-fabricated Frieze Los Angeles backdrops that made for the perfect (and very pink) photo-op. These graphics were shared across social media and featured prominently in event promotional materials.
Behind the scenes, we also provided Frieze with a variety of administrative signs used for deliveries and other important entrances for staff and event organizers. Our team was also on-site to ensure a seamless installation and removal for all graphics, including larger structures and backdrops as well as individual vinyl decals and smaller-scale print assets.
The Unique Challenge of Art Installations and Exhibits
When it comes to providing print graphics for events such as the 2023 Frieze Art Fair, it can be difficult to create visuals that do not compete with the artistic talent and exhibits being showcased.
